Horton in Craven

Horton in Craven is a compact hamlet centred around a triangular village green. The village is reached via a winding country lane from the A59. Though in Gisburn parish Horton is within the post 1974 boundaries of North Yorkshire.

Horton hamlet has seen big changes over the last ten years with the demise of the smaller farms and barns being converted into very desirable properties. In this era of change, the local pub has been developed and is now a small group of houses.

Every farm in the parish of Horton was wiped out with foot and mouth disease in 2001.
