‘Time Flies Swift Away - Rimington Remembered & Middop Memories'
has been well received by villagers, ex-Rimingtonians, as well as by others abroad and interested in the history of the district. Over 300 copies have already been sold since its publication in late June.

The title has been taken from the legend above the sundial at Martin Top Chapel. It is very apt for a book crammed with a miscellany of local history information comprised of reminiscences, articles, maps, pictures and snippets compiled and edited by Brians Ashton and Stott.

It is the last of the projects to be completed to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, instigated by Rimington & Middop Golden Jubilee Committee last year.

The book costs £5 with all profits being divided equally between the Sports and Recreation Fund and Rimington Village Hall. Copies can be obtained from Mary Bairstow (01200) 445501, Cosgroves House of Colour, and the Black Bull Inn. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Rimington & Middop Jubilee Fund'.
